The Jewish Congregation of Marco Island (JCMI), following the Jewish custom of Tzedakah, the ethical obligation to do what is right and just, raises money to feed seniors in our community.
Every Fourth of July, a Barbeque Dinner is held as a fundraiser. The money raised by our JCMI members at our barbeque is used to buy Publix gift cards, which are donated to the Food Pantry of the Naples Senior Center at JFCS. The Senior Center JFCS Food Pantry provides food assistance to the residents of Collier County and surrounding areas.
The food pantry is open to the entire community. Dr. Jaclynn Faffer, President/CEO of Naples Senior Center at JFCS, was presented the gift cards by Sue R. Baum, JCMI President. In addition to the Publix gift cards, JCMI members collect food throughout the year to help the JFCS Food Pantry.
