GUEST COMMENTARY
As our nation’s population continues to age, senior centers all across the country are delivering vital connections to help more older adults address life’s challenges and age well independently.
Whether it is respite needs for people with dementia, life cycle issues, bereavement support after a loss, food for the table during difficult financial times or a hot lunch with an opportunity to socialize, senior centers are essential community organizations that you can count on for help.
September is National Senior Center Month. During this time, we celebrate senior centers for the intellectually stimulating educational programs, wellness activities and socialization opportunities they provide on a daily basis. We also note the creative volunteering opportunities, as exemplified by the more than 200 dedicated volunteers assisting us at Naples Senior Center.
Naples Senior Center fills an enormous need, providing comprehensive “one-stop shop” services addressing the emotional and social needs of seniors across Collier and southern Lee counties.
